Invest in Santa Marta and ProSanta Marta Vital Participated in the Red Invest Meeting
The National Network of Investment Promotion Agencies, Red Invest, held its first meeting of 2025 to define the presidency of this organization, which was created in Barranquilla in June 2023 under the leadership of Invest in Bogotá.
“We were reaffirmed in the presidency of Red Invest. This network is made up of 19 investment promotion agencies and aims to facilitate the transfer of information and knowledge, promote the adoption of best practices, and serve as a communication channel with the National Government on internationalization matters,” said Mauricio Romero, Strategy Manager at Invest in Bogotá.
One of the initiatives presented during the committee meeting was the Regional Obstacle Identification and Management System (SIGO Regional), designed to identify barriers and manage solutions that benefit foreign investment at the regional level in Colombia.
This tool enables the monitoring of obstacles and the proposal of solutions through public policy or public-private initiatives, contributing to the improvement of the business environment.
“It was essential for the regions to meet again, not only to discuss investment opportunities and prospects but also to address the challenges and strategies to overcome the barriers that sometimes affect foreign investment. These work sessions allow us to strengthen this network of investment promotion agencies even further,” stated Viviana Velasco, Executive Director of Destino Santander.
Investment promotion agencies are non-profit organizations dedicated to fostering economic development through the attraction of direct investment. Their role involves identifying and supporting both national and international companies during their market entry or business expansion processes in a given territory.
Red Invest is composed of: Invest in Bogotá, ACI Medellín, Invest in Armenia, Invest in Cartagena & Bolívar, Invest in Cúcuta, Invest in Huila, Invest in Manizales, Invest in Nariño, Invest in Oriente, Invest in Orinoquía, Invest in Pereira, Invest in Santa Marta, Destino Santander, Invest in Tolima, Invest Pacific, ProBarrancabermeja, ProBarranquilla, ProMontería, and ProSincelejo.
This Wednesday, Red Invest will hold a work session with ProColombia to continue developing an integrated strategy aimed at positioning the capital, cities, and regions of our country as a hub for investment, entrepreneurship, and major international events in Latin America.
