Bureau de Santa Marta asume la vicepresidencia de la Red Nacional de Bureaux 2025

The Santa Marta Bureau, led by Sara Illidge, assumes the vice presidency of the National Bureau Network, highlighting the city’s potential as a destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and events (MICE) tourism.

As part of the celebration of its 500th anniversary, the city proudly takes on this responsibility, reaffirming its commitment to the development of the sector and the consolidation of strategic partnerships. “This is an opportunity to position Santa Marta as a hub for meetings tourism in Colombia. Our goal is to attract high-impact events that benefit the local economy and project our city as a leading destination in the MICE segment,” stated Sara Illidge, Director of the Santa Marta Convention Bureau.

The challenge involves coordinating efforts with the 11 bureaux across the country, optimizing the tourism offering, and promoting investment in event and convention infrastructure. The National Bureau Network brings together key cities such as Medellín, Cartagena, Cali, Barranquilla, and Bucaramanga, consolidating a cooperation platform for the growth of meetings tourism in Colombia.

The presidency of the National Bureau Network will be led by another Santa Marta native, Luis Alejandro Dávila, Director of the Bogotá Bureau, strengthening the shared vision to work for the growth of tourism in the country. With an integrated and collaborative strategy, Santa Marta and the National Bureau Network aim to enhance the event industry, attract investment, and generate opportunities that drive the development of the region and the country.
